Karen Nickel Anhalt, Senior Research Analyst Karen Nickel Anhalt
Karen Nickel Anhalt is a Senior Research Analyst with Kennedy. Focus areas of her work include the analysis of consulting markets on a geographic basis. She is the author of Asia Pacific Consulting Marketplace 2009-2012; EMEA Consulting Marketplace 2009-2012; Western Europe Consulting Marketplace 2007-2010; Eastern European Consulting: Key Data, Trends and Forecasts for Consulting in Eastern Europe, Russia, Ukraine and the Baltics; and Consulting Opportunities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Ms. Anhalt has been based in Berlin, Germany, for the past 17 years and has written on a broad variety of topics for several well-known business publications including Fortune, Business Week, and Pensions & Investments. She also conducts company and industry research for financial institutions and translates books and other publications.
Ms. Anhalt earned a B.A. in German and English from Rice University in Houston, Texas.

Tomek Jankowski, Research Analyst Tomek Jankowski
Tomek Jankowski is a Research Analyst with Kennedy. His focus is EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa), with particular emphasis on Eastern Europe and emerging markets. He has contributed research to Kennedy Information reports such as Global Consulting Marketplace and Eastern Europe Consulting Marketplace (Russia, Ukraine and the Baltics) as well as other research.
Prior to joining Kennedy, Mr. Jankowski led the European asset-backed securities (ABS) and global collateralized debt obligation (CDO) report sourcing and research efforts for the asset-backed securities market intelligence firm Lewtan Technologies. Before that he spent five years with Capital Access International, a fixed-income market intelligence firm responsible for bringing the widely known fixed-income investment professional and securities profile tool eMAXX™ to the investment world. Mr. Jankowski was Director of North American data research when that firm was acquired by Lipper (a Reuters company) in 2002.
Mr. Jankowski earned a B.A. in History (with a minor in Cultural Anthropology) magna cum laude from SUNY at Buffalo (New York). He also spent several years living and studying in Poland, Hungary, and other regions of Eastern Europe.

Paul Johnson, Senior Analyst
Paul Johnson is a Senior Analyst at Kennedy, where he conducts research on IT consulting. He has more than 15 years of experience in market research as both an IT market analyst and manager of custom research engagements.
Prior to joining Kennedy, Mr. Johnson worked as Client Services Director at Hansa|GCR, serving as the engagement lead on custom research projects for clients in the IT, healthcare, and consumer services industries. He also spent more than seven years at IDC, most recently as Consulting Director in the Services Research group. In this role, he was responsible for managing custom research, marketing, and consulting projects for firms specializing in IT consulting, systems integration, and training and education.
In addition to serving in IT research analyst roles at IDC and TNS, Mr. Johnson also has client-side experience in market research and strategy functions at CMGI and CNET Network.
Mr. Johnson earned a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Sociology, graduating cum laude from Bowdoin College. He is currently based in San Francisco, California.

Paul Johnston, Managing Director of Analyst Services Paul Johnston
Paul Johnston has more than 15 years of experience in strategic and market planning, both as a consultant and a corporate practitioner. He has followed the services industry as a market analyst or strategy consultant since 1993. Previously, Mr. Johnston was a Senior Strategist with NerveWire, where he was involved in a variety strategy and planning projects for consortiums, financial services firms, software companies, and services organizations.
Prior to NerveWire, Mr. Johnston was the Senior Director of Strategic Marketing with Cambridge Technology Partners, and led the Professional Services Research Practice for International Data Corporation.
Mr. Johnston holds an M.B.A. from New York University's Stern School of Business, and a B.A. in Economics from Colby College.

Sven Lohse, Associate Director Sven Lohse
Sven Lohse is an Associate Director with Kennedy with nearly 10 years of experience in consulting, market research, and journalism in the US and Europe. Focus areas of his work include strategy consulting and healthcare. He is the co-author of Strategy Consulting Marketplace, 2009-2012 and author of Healthcare Consulting Marketplace, 2010-2013.
Prior to joining Kennedy, Mr. Lohse worked in several consulting roles, including the strategy practice of Diamond Management and Technology Consultants and the internal consulting team for The Hanover Insurance Group. Among his accomplishments, he project-managed key components of the successful acquisition and integration of a small specialty commercial lines insurance company into The Hanover Insurance Group. He also wrote the business plan for RBC TV, a highly successful business news cable TV station in the former Soviet Union. Mr. Lohse is conversant in Czech and was awarded Das Kleine Deutsche Sprachdiplom, a Goethe Institute certification for fluency in German.
Mr. Lohse holds a B.A. in Fundamentals, an interdisciplinary program in literature and philosophy from the University of Chicago. He also holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.

Rebecca Luken, Senior Analyst Rebecca Luken
Rebecca Luken is a Senior Analyst with Kennedy, where she conducts research on business advisory services. She has spent more than a decade providing market research and competitive intelligence insights to Big Four and financial services industry professionals.
Most recently, Ms. Luken engaged in business development and competitive markets research for the Corporate and Investment arm of Key Bank. Prior to that, she spent five years in Ernst & Young's Center for Business Knowledge, working with the firm's Americas Strategy Group and a range of advisory subsegments to improve the firm's competitive positioning. She started her career as a research librarian in the legal industry.
Ms. Luken holds an M.L.S. from Indiana University and a B.A. in Art History from the University of Cincinnati.

Kelly Matthews, Associate Director Kelly Matthews
Kelly Matthews is an Associate Director for Kennedy. She is the author of the Global Consulting Marketplace Report; Financial Services Consulting Marketplace; Public Sector Consulting Marketplace; and Healthcare Consulting Marketplace. She also works closely with Kennedy’s IT consulting analyst team, contributing to the IT consulting research portfolio. She has more than 15 years of experience in market research, consulting, and strategic and market planning. Prior to joining Kennedy, Ms. Matthews worked at IDC as the Vice President of Vertical Industry and Insights Consulting. In this role, she developed and directed custom research, marketing, and consulting projects and managed client engagements for clients targeting and within a variety of vertical industries, including retail, manufacturing, healthcare, public sector, and energy.
Before joining IDC, Ms. Matthews served as a marketing analyst for State Street Global Advisors, the investment management arm of State Street Corporation, focusing on competitive research and analysis and customer acquisition strategies for the high net worth client segment. She previously worked at ICF Kaiser International and Project Performance Corporation, where she spent several years consulting to federal government agencies on issues such as budget management, privatization, project scheduling, and information management.
Ms. Matthews has her M.B.A. from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College and received her B.A. at the University of Virginia with a dual major in Economics and Environmental Policy.

Ashley M. Newton, Senior Research AnalystAshley Newton
Ashley M. Newton is a Senior Research Analyst at Kennedy, where she conducts research on strategy and operations management consulting. Ms. Newton is the author of the Energy Consulting Marketplace 2009-2012 report; she also has contributed to the Public Sector Consulting Marketplace 2009-2012 and the Global Consulting Marketplace reports. Prior to joining Kennedy, Ms. Newton worked as an internal consultant within the Strategic Planning and Advisory group at EMC Corporation, where she provided senior management and functional unit leaders with business planning and targeted guidance to assist the company in achieving global objectives.
Ms. Newton holds a B.A. cum laude with Highest Honors in Cognitive Science from Smith College. While at Smith, she performed original scientific research, which culminated in the publication of an article in the journal Psychological Science. In her free time, Ms. Newton continues to work on further cognitive science research and articles.

Marc Pramuk, Senior Research Analyst
Marc Pramuk is a Senior Analyst with Kennedy. He has nearly two decades of experience in HR-related market research, consulting, strategic and market planning, and product strategy. Focus areas of his work include HR technology, HR outsourcing, and HR consulting.
Most recently, Marc worked at Accenture, where he led marketing and product strategy for the Talent Management & Learning BPO offerings in the company’s outsourcing service line. Prior to this, he led HR outsourcing research at Everest Research Institute and contributed by consulting to their sourcing advisory practice. While at Convergys Employee Care, Marc launched the HR business intelligence practice. Earlier in the decade, Marc was Program Manager at IDC, where he created the HR Management & Staffing Services research offering.
Marc has been a regular columnist with HRO Today magazine and a guest columnist in Workforce and HR Executive magazines. He has been quoted in leading business publications, including the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and the Financial Times. He has been a featured speaker at a number of HR industry events, including HRO World, SHRM, HR Outsourcing Summit, and IHRIM.
Marc earned his M.B.A. at Babson College and his B.S. degree in business and market research from Boston University.

Lynne Schneider, Associate Director Lynne Schneider
Ms. Schneider is an Associate Director at Kennedy Consulting Research & Advisory, where she conducts research on management consulting and business advisory services. She is the lead analyst in the business advisory space and author of the Crisis & Recovery Consulting Marketplace, Finance Management Consulting Marketplace, and Transaction Advisory Services Consulting Marketplace reports. With nearly 20 years of experience in advising organizations – as both a consultant and an analyst – she provides unique insights to consulting buyers, providers, and the media.
Prior to joining Kennedy, Ms. Schneider held a variety of internal and external consulting positions with international firms. As a Director, Business Process Improvement at American Greetings, she was responsible for a portfolio of strategic and operations projects, including both staff and line functions. Prior to joining American Greetings, she was a Senior Consultant in Towers Watson’s Organization Effectiveness practice, and a consultant in the Change Management practice at Accenture.
Ms. Schneider holds a B.A. in English from Duke University and an M.A. in Communications from the Annenberg School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Stephanie Torto, Senior Analyst
Stephanie Torto is a Senior Analyst for Kennedy, where she conducts research on the IT consulting market. She has more than 10 years of experience in market research, consulting, and strategic and market planning focused on the IT services industry. Most recently, Ms. Torto worked at IBM as a senior analyst within the Market Insights organization. In this role, she led global market opportunity and competitive analysis engagements in support of IBM’s global consulting business.
Prior to joining IBM, Ms. Torto was a Program Manager at IDC, where she provided expert analysis on the key trends and developments in the systems integration services market. In this capacity, Ms. Torto delivered strategic advisory and custom consulting services to business executives and senior strategists at client companies. She previously worked at Lotus Development Corporation as a consultant, helping clients to customize their Web-based solutions. Early in her career, Ms. Torto spent a year teaching English in Japan and traveling throughout Asia.
Ms. Torto holds an M.B.A. cum laude from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College and a B.A. in East Asian Studies from Union College.
