Building Your Social Capital for Maximum Productivity and Retention

A Professional Development Seminar with Jon Ingham, Executive Consultant, Strategic Dynamics

Thursday, October 2, 2008 (1:00pm ET)
Developing social capital has emerged as the latest strategy in recruitment and retention efforts. Connecting people, building teams and ensuring productive working relationships across the company contributes to a healthy work environment. If the point of performance is the team, smart organizations utilize all the tools. Web 2.0 and other social networks, team meetings, office restaurants, unconferences and large scale events all have important roles to play.
On Thursday, October 2, 2008, Jon Ingham, Executive Consultant, Strategic Dynamics will present a 60-minute, Kennedy-sponsored Interactive Seminar that will explore how to develop “people potential” and recruit team talent that fits your company culture.
In this Interactive Seminar, you and your team will determine:
  • The value of social capital through the employee lifecycle, from building it through initial recruitment efforts to maintaining it during layoffs and downsizing
  • Some examples of different strategic contexts for social capital, and food for thought about the type of social capital which might make sense for your own organization
  • Examples of virtual and “real” activities which can be used to enhance organizational social capital
  • A review of HR and recruitment processes can be tailored towards maintaining and building social capital
  • A framework for indentifying the activities that can be used to develop social capital in a particular context
